Background:
I am an enthusiastic chemist graduated from Chemistry department of University of Patras in Greece with specialization in biochemistry. I completed my MSc in Cancer Sciences in University of Glasgow on 2015. During my undergraduate thesis I investigated the expression patterns of CD44 in breast cancer cell lines under the presence of Estradiol while in my Master Project I explored the phenotype of Acute Myeloid Leukemia cells after silencing of ADAR and L3MBTL genes. Apart from the biology of cancer, I am greatly interested in Tissue engineering and Evolution.

Training and Transferable Skills:

  • Mammalian, Bacterial, Yeast culture
  • CRISPR, Transformation, siRNA, AlamarBlue viability assay
  • DNA, RNA, plasmid, protein extraction/purification
  • PCR, qRT-PCR, Western Blotting

Research Projects:
In my PhD program I am studying the contribution of replisome components in live yeast using time lapse confocal microscopy. It is the first time that replication time can be measured in vivo and this could lead to our better understanding of replication proteins, their mutants’ implications and their interactions with chromatin.
